Graham Norton is one of the best known presenters on British Television. He started his career as one of the best live comperes on the comedy circuit. His first appearances in broadcasting were when he appeared on a regular spot on the BBC Radio 4 show “Loose Ends” in the early 1990s.
Graham Norton: Rise To Fame
His rise to fame began as one of the early successes of Channel 5 when he won an award for his performance as the stand-in host of the late-night talk show usually presented by Jack Docherty (1997). This was followed by a comic quiz show called “Bring Me The Head Of Light Entertainment”, which further enhance his reputation.
TV Work
He also took part in the show “Carnal Knowledge”. He achieved fame as a broadcaster on Britain’s Channel 4 and also through his role as Father Noel Furlong in the critically acclaimed television series “Father Ted”. Though he only appeared in three episodes, his performance as Father Noel proved extremely popular with viewers.

His channel 4 chat shows So Graham Norton and V Graham Norton (2002 -2005) became some of the channel’s highest rated shows and picked up nearly every award going, including four Baftas. Graham then moved to the BBC in 2005 where he has had a string of successful series including Strictly Dance Fever, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria (BBC 2006), Any Dream Will Do (BBC 2007) and I’d Do Anything.
BBC Moves
The Graham Norton Show started on the BBC2 in 2007 and moved quickly across to BBC1 and has been popular prime time viewing ever since. He hosts his own Saturday morning show on Radio 2 and took over presenting the UK coverage for The Eurovision song contest (2007). He had a four month run in the West End production of La Cage Aux Folles playing the flamboyant Albin.
SO Television
Graham is also the co-owner of SO Television, which produces many oh his television shows. When time allows he hosts many corporate awards events.
