Pete Graves is a well-known British television presenter and events host. As well as a TV & Radio sports presenter, Pete has made his name as an excellent compere & host on the after-dinner speaking circuit & at corporate events, working with many of the sports personalities he’s frequently interviewed and work within the media.
Beginnings
After making a name for himself in the North East on local TV and Radio, Pete Graves was poached by Sky Sports in 2009.
Radio
Graves took over the position of head commentator on all Newcastle United matches working alongside ex-Newcastle Utd and Manchester Utd footballer Mick Martin.
He moved to Real Radio (formerly Century Radio) in 2007.
Pete wrote, produced and hosted a one-hour programme about Bobby Robson to mark his 75th birthday. The programme was aired again following Robson’s death in July 2009.
Sky Sports
Pete initially hosted Football, Rugby Union and Hockey on Sky before becoming the host of Good Morning Sports Fans on Sky Sports News. One of the main faces on Sky’s world renowned ‘Deadline Day’ watched by millions around the globe.
He also hosts the ‘Transfer Talk’ Podcast which was voted Best Football Podcast at the International Podcast Awards in 2022 and his best selling book “Here To Compete” was published in 2023.
Darts
Pete was announced as the new face of Professional Darts Corporation (ITV sports) in 2025 and has gone on to present Darts to millions across the globe.
Corporate events & After dinner circuit
Pete also hosts huge events around the world including the Newcastle United Trophy Parade in 2025 in front of more than 300,000 people.
He has hosted numerous events around the country interviewing and working with major sports people including Kevin Keegan, Harry Rednapp, Alan Shearer where he hosted a sold out in-conversation-with event in Blackburn. The club where Shearer’s career really took off.
As an events auctioneer, Pete’s energetic style has helped raise millions for different charities around the UK.
