The New Theatre Royal Lincoln: Comedy Nights
The New Theatre Royal Lincoln starts it highly popular comedy nights with some of the country’s leading stand-up comedians performing at the beautiful Grade 2 listed Victoria theatre built in 1893.
Among some of the seasons stand out comics are Larry Dean and Scott Bennett back from their highly successful Edinburgh Shows and Larry’s performances on BBC’s ‘Live at the Apollo’ & ‘The Michael McIntyre show’. Tom Binns brings his Ivan Brackenbury character to the theatre fresh from his successful BBC sit-com ‘Hospital People’

The Theatre is on three levels (stalls, circle and gallery) this curved auditorium lines up nicely to the stage which provides excellent acoustics for laughter. Tim Clark commenting ‘In such theatres the laughter seems to go right round the venue, ending back where we’re performing. It’s a marvelous experience.’ The jumping jester Adam Bloom loves to use the whole stage in his performance saying ‘I adore this type of theatre, especially when it’s packed, never a better feeling’.

Matthew Willetts MA is the Director of Comicus who has over 35 years experience in television, film, theatre, and comedy club/cabaret entertainment, working as a performer, screenwriter, producer and agent. He lectured at Southampton Solent University in Comedy, Screenwriting, Television, Theatre & Radio. Matthew can sometimes be seen and heard on TV & Radio and often quoted in the national press and media publications. As well as speaking regularly at festivals and industry conferences, he has been a judge at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Montreux Television Festival.
