David Walliams was born in Surrey as David Williams. He became a member of the National Youth Theatre, where he met comedy partner Matt Lucas. He studied drama at Bristol before landing his first TV role as Lesley Luncheonment on Sky1’s Games World in 1993.

More TV roles followed, including a cameo role in Simon Pegg’s Spaced and an appearance with Matt Lucas; in the 1998 Fat Les video for Vindaloo. In 2003, he found recognition; with the award winning comedy sketch show Little Britain (BBC 2003-05), which he also co-wrote.
Film Star
David Walliams has appeared in; Run Fat Boy Run, Capturing Mary, A Cock And Bull Story and Come Fly With Me; which became the most watched comedy of 2010. Walliams portrayed comedian Frankie Howerd in the BBC Four TV film ‘Rather You Than Me’; and in 2012 he was invited to compere the Royal Variety show at the Albert Hall. He is presenting a new panel show on Sky1 called Wall Of Fame.

As well as his film and TV credits, David Walliams has published three children’s books; The Boy In The Dress, Mr Stink and Billionaire Boy. David has swam the Channel and Strait of Gibraltar for Comic Relief. He was linked to Patsy Kensit and Abi Titmuss before he married model Lara Stone in 2010. Since 2012, David has been a judge on the ITV talent show series Britain’s Got Talent; with Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell.
Award Winning
At the 2012 National Television Awards, David won the ‘Landmark Achievement Award’, for his television career and achievements for Sport Relief, having swam the English channel for the charity, and raised over one million pounds. In December 2012, he was awarded the “Children’s Book of the Year” by the National Book Awards for Ratburger.
