Having achieved success both individually and as part of a team, Roger understands what it takes to become a champion. He talks about how to develop the mindset by applying his ‘Five Fundamentals’ for success: a desire to reach your full potential, low fear of failure, goal-setting, a set training programme and an ability to perform under pressure.

Roger’s standard speech is designed to engage the audience in the lessons learnt throughout his athletics career, which resulted in him achieving his dream of standing on the Olympic rostrum in Atlanta in 1996. His vision, put simply is…to transfer Olympic performance into the workplace.

The session includes a selection of Olympic images and archive race footage; of the Gold Medal Winning 1991 World Championships 4x400m Relay. Speaking to Personal Appearances

It seems to Roger that the fundamentals for success change very little; but the challenge for most businesses, whether large or small, is to find a way to communicate the key corporate messages in an appropriate way. If his speeches compliment or reinforce the company message; then a great opportunity is created for the audience to move ahead with a shared vision. A 45 minute speech followed by Q&A if required.

Roger Black After Dinner

A blend of anecdotes from the world of first class athletics, with a motivational theme. This is a slightly shorter speech, more suited to the occasion.
