Having presented Pointless, Child Genius and Richard Osman’s House of Games over the years, as well as produced Deal or No Deal, 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Richard Osman has become a heavyweight of British television. Standing at 6ft 7, Richard offers much more than height to our screens, as he is known for his quick wit, research, intelligence and articulate presentation.

World Record Holder

In one particular episode of the television hit Pointless, where he is sidekick to the show’s host Alexander Armstrong, Richard claimed a Guinness World Record. In the segment, Richard had one minute to name as many countries as he could when told the capital city. He named thirty countries successfully and was awarded a certificate for his achievement.

Creative Hat Trick

A man of many talents, Richard began his career in television with Hat Trick Productions before he was Creative Director of Endemol UK which produced shows for the likes of ITV. He has since been at the heart of some of the country’s most cutting-edge television, both broadcast in the early evening and prime-time.

His presenting roles have also extended beyond Pointless, and he has been sworn in a guest presenter of the one show, and as the host of Channel 4’s Alternative Election Night. Still, Richard’s career is not confined to one or even two areas, and he has also had success as a writer of nonfiction and fiction, with the release of The 100 Most Pointless Things in the World book, penned with Pointless co-host, Alexander Armstrong.

Richard Osman: Author

His debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club, is set to grace supermarket shelves and online stores in 2020 after prompting a bidding war from interested publishers. The highly-anticipated crime thriller is set in a peaceful retirement village where four friends plan to investigate unsolved murders, before they are embroiled in the investigation of a live case.

TV Work

A regular across the media, Richard has taken the Pointless Quiz to the Sky Sports stage and has appeared on Innuendo Bingo on BBC Radio One. In recent years he has been in demand as an after dinner speaker, appearing for a fireside chat at Impact 2016 for the Market Research Society, as a speaker for the In Conversation With Standard Issue – International Men’s Day Show, a speaker at Cheltenham Literature Festival, on Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and much more.
