Now, he works as a regular pundit and analyst for BBC Sport, appearing regularly on Match of the Day. Danny Murphy the Footballer
Beginning his career with Crewe Alexandra, Danny Murphy made his debut as a 16-year-old in 1993. Quickly becoming one of the team’s best players, in 1997 he signed for Premier League giants Liverpool where he established himself as a key midfielder alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard and Dietmar Hamann. He picked up a handy knack for scoring winning goals against arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, a feat he achieved three times. Spending seven years at Anfield, he won a whole host of honours including the 2001 ‘treble’ of the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup. At his speaking events, he’s able to discuss these experiences with audiences. During his spell with Liverpool, he made his England debut and played nine times for the Three Lions.
Wonderful end
In 2004 Danny Murphy moved to Charlton, before having a spell at Tottenham. Next, he signed for Fulham in 2007 and scored the winning goal against Portsmouth that kept the club in the Premier League. His excellent leadership qualities saw him named Fulham’s captain, and he led the side to an unlikely Europa League final in 2010 where they, unfortunately, lost to Atletico Madrid.
Sports Pundit & Speaker
Danny hung up his boots in 2013 after a spell with Blackburn Rovers. Since then, he’s worked as a well-respected football pundit for BBC Sport and Talksport. These roles have seen him work on some of the sport’s biggest matches in both the domestic and international game. At your next event, Danny Murphy can bring the house down combining his own experiences in the game with his expert insight on the sport we all love.
