Craig Phillips is a British reality star and television presenter who first rocketed to fame in 2000 as a much loved contestant of Channel’s 4’s first season of the ground-breaking series Big Brother; Phillips, who prior to entering the Big Brother house had been a bricklayer, qualified builder and established a successful construction business, has since made a name for himself as a reputable TV personality, after dinner speaker, DIY expert and charitable ambassador.

Craig Phillips is remembered not only as the first winner of Big Brother but also for giving his prize money away to a friend, Joanna Harris, who needed to raise £250,000 for a lifesaving operation. Thanks to Phillips’ generous donation and fantastic fund raising he was able to gather the rest of the money within a matter of days with support and donations from the public and other celebrities. Many will also recognise Phillips from his career as a TV presenter and host of popular daytime shows such as 60 Minute Makeover, Housecall and Renovation Street. His status as a reality TV star was reaffirmed in 2009 when he returned to the Big Brother House due to popular demand. As part of the show’s ten year anniversary celebration Phillips has also appeared as a surprise guest in the show.

DIY Expert

Alongside this, Craig Phillips has become a prolific TV personality, a long standing member of the BBC’s DIY and renovation team and is now the BBC’s resident DIY expert and is a TV presenter for and guest speaker on numerous shows where he provides advice and comment on problems of a do-it-yourself nature. Craig Phillips has been an integral part in the production and development of over 900 DIY TV programmes; he has acted as a TV presenter for numerous worldwide broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Sky One, Channel 4, Five and UKTV Style. He is a much sought-after event host and TV presenter who can only be booked exclusively through Champions Speakers, he has fans throughout Europe and reaches viewers as far ranging as Asia and Korea.

Beyond his status as a reality TV star and work as a television presenter, Craig Phillips is known and admired for his charitable work, particularly for cancer related charities; although he is patron of the Downs Syndrome Association and the driving charity Brake. Phillips has also taken part in various charitable sporting events including marathons and long distance cycle races, he has captained charity golf teams and played in charity sponsored matches at global sporting clubs including Liverpool Football Club.
