Sir Alastair Cook is a former England Captain, who enjoyed an illustrious career as an opening batsmen. Cook holds various England records, that make him arguably England’s greatest all time batsman. He is the all time leading run scorer, with the most Test 100’s as well as the most caps for his country and the longest serving captain. Alastair retired from England duty in September 2018 after scoring 147 runs in his final England innings.

Cricket Debut

Alastair Cook made his cricket debut for England in India, aged just 21 in early 2006; scoring 100 runs in his very first match. A feat achieved by only a handful of players in the history of the game. He followed this up with a further three 100s in his first 10 Tests and became the youngest English player ever to score 2000 Test runs. Alastair also became the quickest English player ever and 2nd youngest world wide (behind Tendulkar), to score 5,000 Test runs; having taken under 5 years to achieve this milestone. He was made England Captain in August 2012 and held the role until stepping down in 2017.

Alastair’s Ashes

In the 2010/11 Ashes series Alastair Cook scored an amazing 766 runs in the series; the second highest aggregate of runs by an Englishman in any Test series. He averaged an incredible 127, having batted for over 36 hours in the series and went on to win the Ashes.

Test Match Special

Alastair Cook retired from England duty after a victorious Test series against India, in September 2018. Alastair scored 147 in his final Test innings at The Oval; and at the end of that year, Cook was knighted for services to cricket. Following his retirement, Cook joined the BBC Radio 5 Live ‘Test Match Special’ team, besides Paragon co-founder Phil Tufnell.

Alastair Cook Sax Solo

In addition to his cricket achievements, Alastair has recorded a Saxophone Solo for a BBC1 Children’s Programme ‘Freefonix’, which was launched in 2008. As well as appearing in several non sporting publications which have championed his good looks, including a poll in Tatler magazine, for most eligible bachelors; as well as a top ten place in the Sunday Times best looking sportsmen.

Lord’s Tour

Alastair is also available for the ‘Lord’s Cricket Experience’. Where groups of 10-30 can take part in a nets session with Alastair; who will give you a tour of the historic Lord’s ground, before sitting down for a 3 course meal and drinks in the Lord’s Tavern with the man himself.
