Nina Conti ran away from the Royal Shakespeare Company to become a ventriloquist. She has since wowed audiences from Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas to the Edinburgh Festival. Nina Conti: Ventriloquist

In 2014 Nina’s documentary ‘A Ventrilquist’s Story’ won a BAFTA. Nina takes ventriloquism away from traditional family entertainment towards something more edgy. Her own clean cut image and Monk’s cutesy appearance cannot disguise his basic animal needs; and a less than wholly innocent outlook on life.

With Nina’s Scottish grandmother also joining the pair on stage; it all adds up to an utterly convincing, technically flawless and downright hilarious show.

Live Shows

Nina’s many live performances include Let Me Out, a one-woman ventriloquist farce written especially for her by Ken Campbell. She has also appeared as a weather presenter (with Monkey) in the Hollywood film For Your Consideration; and as Dylan Moran’s ex-girlfriend (without Monkey) in Black Books.

Corporate events

In her after dinner show. Nina takes ventriloquism away from traditional family entertainment towards something a little more edgy, with hilarious results. Her own clean-cut image and Monkey’s cutesy appearance betray a less than innocent vocabulary. And when she picks out audience members to join her onstage, giving them masks to cover the lower half of their face, they too seem to shed their inhibitions.

TV Credits

Nina had the honour of performing in cabaret at The Queen’s 90th birthday party. Her many TV credits include Live at The Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Take Away. As an actor she has appeared in Single, the HBO sitcom Family Tree, as Dylan Moran’s ex in Black Books. She is a weather presenter (with monkey) in the Hollywood film For Your Consideration.Other TV credits includes Loose Women and Live at The Apollo

  1. Diageo

Nina was exceptional. We were actually quite shocked, but that made it all the more hilarious!

  2. R3

She met the brief and was very accommodating regarding AV set-up. Her style was also exactly what we were looking for – funny but not a stand-up. The audience found her a little strange at first (because of her act) but relaxed into the set very quickly. The room was full of laughter (tears at times) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. She used audience participation as well which went down well with the audience because it was a closed group who all knew each other.

  3. Deloitte

Really lovely person and was very friendly and easy to talk to. We all found her act extremely entertaining and had us in stitches, I wouldn’t hesitate to use her in the future for another group.

  4. IOCTA Event

Nina was brilliant and so so funny. Everyone really enjoyed her. She’s a lovely lady, could have watched her all night
