They Think It’s All Over and Room 101 presenter, Nick Hancock, is a staple of British show business. In his early career, Nick appeared in a range of television programmes. Including ITV’s Me, You and Him and BBC’s The Mary Whitehouse Experience.
Versatile Host
He starred in The Outsiders, a comedy documentary about Iran’s national football team in 1998; provided the narration for Pleasure Beach, a six-part documentary about Blackpool Amusement Park, commissioned by the BBC. As well as travelling from Guantanamo to Pinar del Rio in Great Railway Journeys of The World in 1999.
Nick Hancock On TV
He made appearances on Red Nose Day’s The Ultimate Makeover and TV Heaven, Telly Hell; during a break from his television career between 2005 and 2007, during which he worked in mortgage brokering for two years. Nick Hancock’s Fishing School began broadcasting in 2007. Following this, he presented Win My Wage for the summer of 2007 and he presented a new competitive show in 2008, Duel. In 2009, ITV’s daytime cookery competition Taste the Nation began airing, with Nick at the helm.
Celebrity Chase
In 2011, Nick Hancock came within one second of winning a £54,000 jackpot for his chosen charity; on a celebrity edition of ITV’s The Chase. Nick then joined the panel of BBC America’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! In an end of year special edition, which he won. Nick began hosting BBC’s Breakaway in 2012 and has guest hosted Stoke-On-Trent’s radio program Signal 1 Breakfast Show on a few occasions. He continues to delight audiences as one of the country’s best loved presenters.
