Hire Mick Miller

Comedy has evolved over the years and so has Mick Miller. Mick’s has had a long successful career as a stand-up comic stretching over 40 years. He first came to prominence on the iconic ITV show ‘The Comedians.’  Alongside fellow comedians and TV favourites Roy Walker and Stan Boardman. He also made guest appearances on ‘3, 2, 1’, ‘Seaside Special’, and ‘Blankety Blank’ (with his good friend Les Dawson). Live theatre tours and summer season shows followed.

Mick Miller is often refered to as a comedy legend, a term which he finds difficult to accept, because those that know him will tell you that he is a modest, unassuming “normal” bloke. It’s when he’s on stage in front of an audience that he comes to life

Evolving Comedy

Beginnings

Mick’s first ambition was to be a footballer. He played as a goalkeeper, and as a boy he signed for Port Vale when Sir Stanley Matthews was the club’s general manager. He had a trial for the England youth team.

When he left football, he began performing at Pontins, where he became interested in stand-up comedy. After being lead comedian at various Pontin’s venues, he moved to the North of England. Embarking upon a career in the clubs. Eventually getting a break, winning his heat on the TV talent show ‘New Faces.’  Mick was then promptly signed to support Chuck Berry on tour.

Comedy Clubs

From his start as a shiny shoed, frilly shirted, bow tied comedian in a dinner suit. Mick has developed to being a highly respected act working in the coolest of comedy clubs.

Mick works regularly in comedy clubs, and plays to young audiences. He is well respected by the younger generation of comedians. He appeared with Jason Manford on ‘Comedy Rocks.’ As well as being invited onto the 2011 Royal Variety show.

He regularly appeared on ‘Today With Des and Mel’ as well as ‘They Think It’s All Over’ and ‘Des O’Connor Tonight.’

Acting Television

Mick has used his comedy talent and timing to land several acting roles. He has appeared in ‘IDEAL’ with Johnny Vegas, and Peter Kay’s Car Share. He acted in Alan Bleasdale’s 1978 ‘Play for Today’ – ‘Scully’s New Year.’ In it he played the part of a wannabe stand-up comedian.

America

He fulfilled a lifetime ambition to work in Las Vegas when he was chosen to be part of the major ITV series ‘Last Laugh in Vegas’ (2018). “I’ve loved every minute of my career” said Mick, “but one of the highlights has to be performing in Las Vegas. It completed the holy trinity of showbiz for me. I have now performed at The London Palladium, The Royal Variety Show and finally, Las Vegas.”

After dinner speaker

Mick is equally at home entertaining on board cruise ships, performing at corporate events, Theatres, Cabaret Clubs and the new style Comedy Clubs.
