Hire Harry Hill
Harry Hill is regarded as one of the UK’s finest and most original comedy acts. His unique brand of humour – interweaving running gags, using music, short films and far-fetched yarns; has been rewarded with numerous awards, nominations and accolades.
Harry Hill or Matthew Hall
Real name Matthew Hall, Harry Hill was a doctor prior to taking the stand-up comedy circuit by storm. Harry stood out on the circuit with his surreal flights of fancy; switching at rapid-fire pace through several stream-of-consciousness stories that tie up perfectly. ‘What are the chances of that happening?’
Award Winning Comedy
In 1992 he won the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. Harry Hill’s Fruit Corner and Fruit Fancies followed for radio. His guest appearances on the revamped ‘Saturday night live’ show further helped his case; as his own TV series followed for Channel Four. Arguably, this is when the influence of badgers on Harry’s comedy came to the fore.
Letterman’s Late Show
Greatly admired across the Atlantic, Harry made an acclaimed appearance on The Late Show (CBS); where the show’s famous host and chat show king, David Letterman has since personally invited Harry back on the show seven times. A record for a British stand-up.
Harry Hill Pedigree Performer
His pedigree as a live performer is well known and in 2002 he was personally invited to perform as the only non-music act; by David Bowie at his Meltdown event at London’s Royal Festival Hall. A prolific last few years have seen Harry write his first novel, Flight from Deathrow published in November 2002; which has subsequently been reprinted three times.
Award Winning Specs
In 2003 he was crowned Male Spectacle Wearer Of The Year. Previous winners of the award include Cliff Richard and Tony Blair; and his fourth ITV1 series, Harry Hill’s TV Burp was transmitted. Which went on to see him win him Best Comic at the Rose D’Or International TV Festival in 2004; and be nominated for a Bafta in 2005.
Harry Hill On Tour
He also saw his 2005 tour, Hooves become a complete sell-out; and went on to record the show for a successful live DVD released in November. Harry Hill’s TV Burp is now Harry’s sixth series for ITV1. Following the success of the 2001 Rose D’Or International TV Festival nominated one-off special; the 2003 Rose D’Or International TV Festival award-winning The All New Harry Hill Show; and the acclaimed award-winning four other series of Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes
Other memorable appearances include his performance as Morrissey on Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, The Royal Variety Performance; being honoured on This Is Your Life, An Audience with Harry Hill and teaching playing the ‘horn xylophone’ on a celebrity episode of The Generation Game. Harry has recently become the voice of You’ve Been Framed; where his off-the-cuff style of witticisms have led to him being widely credited as the saviour of the format.
