This dynamic young comedian hailing from London via Nigeria has taken the comedy world by storm since her debut. In a few short years, she has become one of the most sought after comics in the country, making numerous appearances on television, radio and the big screen.

Her infectious personality and observations on everything from TV programs to the worldwide image of Nigerians; has wowed audiences not just in the UK but in places such as; America, Canada, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and South Africa, as well as all over Europe. She has also performed numerous times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and Toronto, and at HBO and TBS’s The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas

Gina Yashere Lift Engineer

This former lift engineer’s Edinburgh debut show was met with great success. From there she went from strength to strength, securing herself as team captain on Blouse and Skirt; a BBC2 panel show that ran for 3 years. Gina developed a cult following who loved her cheeky wit and bombastic delivery. So much so, that she was able to complete a 30 date sell-out tour; along the length and breadth of the UK in 2000 and 2001.

Going To America

She broke onto the American comedy scene with her appearances on Last Comic Standing (NBC); where she made it to the final 10. Gina Yashere is also known in the US for her regular, hilarious appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC); as Madame Yashere, The Surly Psychic.

Feature films have included Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Mr. in Between. She has also appeared on the West-End stage in The Vagina Monologues. It’s a wonder she found the time to pick up her 4th award in a row for “Best Female Comedian” at the recent Black Entertainment & Comedy Awards (UK).

Gina Yashere recently played a principal character in the TV series in the UK entitled ‘Married Single Other’; which was aired on ITV in the UK, and in Australia. She recently released her follow up DVD ,’Laughing To America’; which was shot in front of a sold out audience in San Francisco. Gina currently resides in New York and tours non-stop around the world.
