One of the nation’s favourite actors, William Roache MBE has been at the heart of British life for over fifty years, impressing his legions of fans and peers with his memorable performances on the long-running ITV soap Coronation Street.

Acting in some of the classic soap’s most memorable story lines, Roache’s fantastic performances as Ken run the full spectrum from high drama and emotion to social commentary and sublime comic performances. Over the years, he has formed memorable acting partnerships with Anne Kirkbride (Deirdre Barlow), Maggie Jones (Blanche Hunt) and Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin).
Recently celebrating his 80th birthday, Roache is one of the nation’s best loved personalities and has featured widely on television and radio shows; such as Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and Loose Women. Roache is currently recognised as the world record holder as the longest running actor in a drama serial; for his role as Ken Barlow in Coronation Street. Which he has performed since the shows very first episode. He has also been on a tour of Canada and is shortly to embark on a tour of New Zealand.
