An incredibly successful celebrity chef, James Martin has made a great impact on the culinary television industry since 1996, where he first appeared as a chef on Ready Steady Cook. After working alongside Antony Worrall Thompson at 190 Queensgate, James opened the Hotel and Bistro du Vin in Winchester as Head Chef at the ender age of 22. James experienced huge success with his first venture, with eight week waiting lists for a table at the weekend.
Currently the face of BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, James regularly attracts over 2 million viewers to his show and gained further success by appearing on the 2006 series of Strictly Come Dancing, where he found a graceful newfound prowess to reach the semi-finals of the show. James’ infectious enthusiasm for cuisine and healthy living is ever present onscreen, where James provides simple yet delicious recipes and cooking methods to budding home cooks.
James has also appeared in a number of documentaries and programmes as a TV Presenter, including a Christmas Special called The Italian Job, in which James realised his dream of entering the Mille Miglia race in a classic Maserati, only for the car to breakdown before completion. The show attracted 3.5 million viewers and documented James’ passion for cars and motorsport. Martin’s professionalism and eloquence as a TV Presenter make him one of the most sought after personalities by producers and channels across the nation.
An ideal celebrity chef for roadshows and exhibitions, James can deliver cooking demonstrations whilst interacting with crowds and enjoying the buzz of letting people in on the secrets professional chefs use. James is equally adept at delivering after dinner speeches, talking about his passions for food, fine wine, automobiles and television.
Using both his experience as a TV Presenter and Celebrity Chef, James has become an accomplished awards host, running proceedings and engaging the audience with wonderful articulation and entertaining tales.
