Debra Stephenson is one of the UK’s leading impressionists and actress. As a comedy impressionist, Debra is best known as star of BBC1’s The Impressions Show, with her impressionists partner Jon Culshaw. As an actress Debra Stephenson has had long running roles in Coronation Street and Bad Girls. She can bring a whole host of voices to any awards ceremony.

Debra is a member of the award winning BBC Radio 4 comedy show team ‘Dead Ringers’. She is also a member of the ITV’s Newzoids impressionist team; a topical satirical puppet / CGI sketch show. Newzoids takes an irreverent look at the news; poking fun at politicians, pop stars, sport stars and TV celebs, while reviewing the issues for the day.
Debra’s Past Work
After a run on Opportunity Knocks as a teenager, Debra Stephenson found herself on Blue Peter, impersonating Esther Rantzen. She has since become one of Britain’s best known impressionists, one half of ‘The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson’.
As well as her joint venture with Jon Culshaw, Debra has provided voices for Spitting Image and its successor Newzoids. As an actor she has starred in roles on the Channel 4’s comedy drama ‘My Mad Fat Diary’; and in the BBC prequel to ‘Keeping Up Appearances’, called ‘Young Hyacinth’.
TV & Drama
Away from comedy Debra is known for her long running part as Shell Dockley, in ITV’s ‘Bad Girls’. Also in another drama role as Mike Baldwin’s wife Frankie in Coronation Street. She has appeared in the dramas ‘Waterloo Road’, ‘Where the Heart Is’, ‘Midsomer Murders’ and ‘Holby City’.
In addition to this Debra has been seen on; ‘Pointless Celebrities’, ‘Comic Relief Does Fame Academy’, ‘Celebrity Masterchef’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’. She has also been a regular on ‘Loose Women’.

He lectured at Southampton Solent University in Comedy, Screenwriting, Television, Theatre & Radio. Matthew can sometimes be seen and heard on TV & Radio and often quoted in the national press and media publications. As well as speaking regularly at festivals and industry conferences, he has been a judge at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Montreux Television Festival.
