Anna Williamson uses these skills as an agony aunt and psychology expert for; This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and new celebrity dating show on MTV, Single AF. She is also the host for the National Lottery Xtra and talk RADIO’s Saturday night show, ‘Later With Anna Williamson’. Her debut book ‘Breaking Mad’ an anxiety busting guide book; published by Bloomsbury in 2017, became a number 1 best seller.
Anna first found fame with big hitting children’s TV shows on CITV, Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. However, away from her successful TV career and behind closed doors, she suffered from an almost crippling battle with generalised anxiety disorder. On speaking out about her experiences, she realised there was a huge stigma attached to mental health issues.
To help fight and remove these stigmas, Anna joined mental health charity Mind as an official ambassador. Anna felt it was important to help others battle anxiety and depression. Since 2009 she studied and qualified as a counsellor, life coach and Master NLP practitioner. She now runs her own private coaching practice, offering those in need 1 to 1 coaching sessions.
Teen Agony Aunt
Anna’s personal experience, expertise and caring nature have led to her own agony aunt column for teen magazine Girl Talk, and fitness magazine Top Sante; who recruited her to provide advice and support through monthly reader questions, regular Facebook chats and ad hoc columns and features. She can also be seen speaking on mental health in schools, businesses and at corporate event. Whilst also fronting online videos for the likes of AOL and Youtube to great success.
Making A Splash
In 2014 Anna went on to take part in ITV’s celebrity diving show Splash! Where she swan dived her way through to the semi finals, and became the last female standing. Following this Anna went on to front several weekly strands called ‘Ask Anna’; on multi award winning ITV daytime show This Morning. Due to the features great success, Anna has been invited back as a regular to join the team on This Morning. Covering issues spanning: mental health, family relationships, parenting and she has hosted phone ins on cases such as the Rotherham sex scandal.

2015 saw Anna explore her wild side, hosting the Gumball 3000; a huge international motor sports rally. Alongside her co-driver Robbie Fowler, she spent a week fronting this tremendous sports race. Anna led their mental well-being initiative, hosting an event for employees to ensure they felt supported and in turn understood the line of communication to follow if and when they might need it. The ‘open door’ policy which Anna helped install in the business was explained to staff and has since been hugely effective in employee mental health awareness, confidence and ultimately work retention.

A Partnership between the YMCA and NHS aiming to raise awareness of the stigma associated with mental health difficulties. Anna joined a panel discussion for social media week, with the topic: Social media and young people’s mental health – The Good, The Bad and The Selfie. At the event were senior marketers from brands and several PR and industry contacts.

An opportunity to shine the spotlight on some amazing young people, so that their stories can inspire and motivate others. Anna hosting their Oscar-style regional award ceremonies across the country. She will help to tell young people’s inspirational stories to packed audiences of friends and family as well as the Prince’s Trust network of partners and supporters.
Celebrates the empowerment and achievement of young women, and explores the pressures and challenges they face as they enter adulthood. The aim is to inspire, empower and foster self-reliance amongst Sixth Form girls. Anna provided a talk about emotional and mental well-being and how we can break

An annual Music Industry Awards in Brussels. Anna provided a 20 minute speech and hosted the awards throughout the evening. Awards for Innovation and Sustainability, for companies with up to 300 employees and for companies with more than 300 employees along with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Adopted ‘Time to Change’ facilitated by Mind & Rethink, as their Charity partner. Anna held their mental health seminar to help support its workers and offer support for individuals should it be needed. She attended as a Mind Ambassador, talked about her experiences of living with a mental health condition and what lead to writing her book “Breaking Mad”.
The Nursery World Awards.
Open to everyone involved in early years education and childcare, the Nursery World Awards shine a light on best practice and help to raise the profile of the sector. Anna provided a short opening speech and then hosted the awards.
Anna’s debut book Breaking Mad The Insiders Guide to Conquering Anxiety was published in 2017 and became a number one best seller. Anna hosted her book launch at Soho House Group and provided a Q & A with press.
Anna hosted a small and intimate well-being event at Champneys Spa Resort in Hertfordshire. As a Master NLP Practitioner Anna encourage the audience to participate in several breathing exercises which can be used when feeling anxious. She also offered everyone a useful day to day guide on how to deal with anxiety.
CYP Now Awards (Children and Young People Now Awards)
The Children & Young People Now Awards have become the gold standard for everyone working with children, young people and families. Now in their twelfth year, these awards provide a great source of pride and recognition for all those who strive day in, day out, to improve the lives of others. They offer an opportunity to raise the profile of projects and initiatives to funders and the general public. Anna explained the tremendous showcase of learning and practice from across the country. She recognised the initiatives from the public, private and voluntary sector that work with children and young people from birth to adolescence as well as their families. Delivered a short speech and hosted the awards.
Ambassador and spokesperson for health and beauty brand Jivesse. Anna hosts all launch parties for Jivesse’s new products, most recently for the Jivesse Marine Collagen Cream a multi-dimensional anti-ageing cream and face mask at Selfridges in London. Anna fronts online video content, works alongside their social media campaigns and holds the Q&A at the Jivesse events.
Host of a presentation to over 600 guests and clients for Viacom Media. The event showcased the Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) International brands which includes MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and The Paramount Channel to clients attending the 2014 MTV EMA in Glasgow.
Host of the Time for Change debate at Channel 4. A forum which engaged media professionals about reporting and portrayals of mental health in the media. The event focused on entertainment and reality TV programmes. Anna was able to draw on her counselling expertise and own experiences whilst conducting the debate. Sitting on the panel was Channel 4 Head of Entertainment Justin Gorman, TV personality Denise Welch, Big Brother contestant Nikki Grahame, MD of Maverick TV Jim Sayer and Elliot Read the Commissioning Executive at the BBC.
An annual conference for BP Store Managers Nationwide. The Camelot energiser opened the second day of the conference (following the gala dinner) and was designed, to energise people. Anna’s role was to facilitate the energiser game and represent Camelot. She introduced key facts and figures about the amount of money raised from National Lottery sales in BP Stores and talked about the great charitable work done with that money. As a facilitator Anna was a voice of encouragement throughout the games played and refereed from the stage, adding a touch of glamour and humour to the activity.

Host of a debate show at the global expo and conference in Las Vegas. The debate show ‘World of Nutrition’ was sponsored by DSM, a global science based company active in health and nutrition. In its 18th year the event attracted over 13,000 participants to the Supply Side West Central Stage at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, in Las Vegas. The aim was to offer fresh ideas and expert insights and hostess Anna Williamson used her personality, interest in this field and experience from the media to keep the show lively as well as informative.
Anna was the awards speaker for the prestigious annual event at London’s Hilton Park Lane. The British Academy Children’s Awards celebrates the very best talent working in children’s media. With a background as a children’s presenter and over 10 years’ experience in the television industry, Anna was a perfect choice for this role. She was also host of the BAFTA Kids TV Preview with Cartoon Network. Introducing the screenings and holding the Q&A session.
Guest speaker for the awards and graduation ceremony of the Busy Bees Nursery Franchise. Held at the National Motorcycle Museum Anna hosted this early afternoon event to the graduates of The Busy Bees Training Programme (18 – 22 typically) many of whom come from under privileged or difficult backgrounds. Anna also told her inspirational story surrounding her journey with metal health.

Host at this global awards ceremony alongside Ant and Dec at the Odeon in Leicester Square. The event celebrates the achievements of young people who have turned their lives around against the odds. Anna has been a part of the hosting team 3 years in a row, presenting to a number of distinguished guests including HRH. She has also hosted the regional Celebrate Success Nominations Awards ceremonies, which are attended by hundreds of supporters and young ambassadors from around the UK.

The event is designed to address London’s specific employment needs and look at the next phase of the Employment Strategy in London. Anna was the sole host to this annual event reaching over 10,000 people. Hundreds of children gather to perform on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall, raising money for Barnardo’s and celebrating the great work of their young supporters.
