Andrew has appeared on countless TV shows, including: Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Jonathan Ross and the Secret Policeman’s Ball. He was also voted “King of Comedy” on the Channel 4 reality TV show, of the same name. Andrew is one of the finest comedians, working in the world today. Andrew has been on BBC’s HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, ITV2′s CELEBRITY JUICE, the Dave Channel’s ARGUMENTAL, BBC2′s MOCK THE WEEK and R4’s THE NOW SHOW; cementing his reputation as one of the UK’s most sought after comics. Andrew filmed his first ONE NIGHT STAND for the Dave TV channel. He can also be seen on Sky Atlantic’s DON’T SIT IN THE FRONT ROW, which is hosted by Jack Dee; and MONUMENTAL, a new BBC NI series hosted by Adam Hills.
Andrew Maxwell: Comedy Style
Always adept at making shrewd, balanced and very funny political observations; Maxwell was one of the first comics at the 2011 Edinburgh Festival, to react to the riots in England and the Arab Spring; and evolve his act to rave reviews and a nomination. He finished performing his exciting 2012 Edinburgh show THAT’S THE SPIRIT, at the Assembly Rooms George Square; to sell out audiences. He followed this, with a run at London’s Soho Theatre.
He also performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival (including the televised American Dream gala); just before heading to Edinburgh in the summer.
Through his career, Andrew has had many sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe; and has also performed at The Amnesty / Channel 4 – Secret Policeman’s Ball (along side Eddie Izzard, Chevy Chase and Dylan Moran), Glastonbury, Kilkenny’s Cat Laughs, The HBO US Comedy & Arts Festival in Las Vegas (along side Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock); and several shows at the Montreal Just for Laughs.
Andrew has won and been nominated for many other major awards; including: the Time Out Live Award for Best Stand Up, the Loaded Award for Best Stand Up and the Chortle Award for Best Contribution To The Live Comedy Circuit. He was also voted Best Irish Comedian by the public at the Entertainment.ie Awards.
He has now recorded three Live DVDs with 2Entertain: ‘CONFLICT REVOLUTION’, ‘ANDREW MAXWELL:LIVE’ and ‘ANDREW MAXWELL: ONE INCH PUNCH’. Andrew is a founder member of ALTITUDE, a comedy fest staged in the Alps every Spring.

Matthew Willetts MA is the Director of Comicus who has over 35 years experience in television, film, theatre, and comedy club/cabaret entertainment, working as a performer, screenwriter, producer and agent. He lectured at Southampton Solent University in Comedy, Screenwriting, Television, Theatre & Radio. Matthew can sometimes be seen and heard on TV & Radio and often quoted in the national press and media publications. As well as speaking regularly at festivals and industry conferences, he has been a judge at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Montreux Television Festival.
